FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • Can I install a Baja Palapa in my existing concrete patio or Pool?

  • Yes. A 10" hole is cored in the existing slab. Then a 18" deep hole is dug using an auger or post hole digger, then the pole can be inserted.

  • How long does the thatch last?

  • Depending on the climate, our thatch will usually last from 3-5 years, and less in more humid climates.

  • What about heavy winds?

  • When correctly installed the hand woven thatch should withstand winds in excess of 50-60 miles per hour. The structural integrity of a Baja Palapa assures you that it will be there for years to come withstanding the elements.
